Show Your Hand Writing

1000000237.jpg

In case anyone is wondering that scratched out part at the bottom was my attempt at cursive, seems I'm rusty as I only really use cursive for my signature meaning I only actively use the cursive letters that make up my name.

And I wrote something just for this because I don't write things down the old fashioned way all that often, I either use my computer or phone for notes.

@Forest Cat
Was just thinking I was definitely taught cursive .I still sign my name in cursive but don’t use it .

But actually it looks so nice and is much faster to write in cursive in my opinion

So here it is. I've worked on it a bit, because I hated how I used to write, so I borrowed a book from the library and tried to improve it.

That left & right hand writing, hard to tell the difference, it is really impressive!!!
Thanks ! I play all my guitars left handed but usually write with my left, but sometimes sign my name with my right hand . And always use scissors with my right hand .
The teachers hated it and tried to get me only to use my right hand .
And I kept asking them why? and the only answer I got was everyone else is writing with their right hand
And I would reply so ….
And then get in trouble for that

So, I've got a bit of a contrast going on.

This is my handwriting:

It's all scratchy and I have to do it very slowly or it becomes illegible.

But then this is my lettering:

That was done rather hastily. Done slower I can eliminate the slight wobbles.

Just a bit of a difference, eh? I can do other types/fonts of lettering work, too. I've got books on this stuff, it's what I specialize in for art. I just dont show it very often.

But my handwriting? Always gonna be that scratchy mess.

My handwriting is so inconsistent that it doesn't even compute, but I also try to type whenever given the opportunity because writing just bothers me for some reason.

Although, I've been having fun sketching out death metal-style logos lately, so none of this makes any sense.

Huh, i dunno, maybe your handwriting changed with time, but i definitely understood everything :)

Father of my husband had similar thing happening to him in school, where actually his parents were forcing him to write with right hand, because it looked for them like a defect that he writes with left, cause "no one else does that, and one my friend was doing it and they tough him to write with right and that worked." But his parents did stop doing that once they noticed that their son started stuttering when he's talking, the moment they allowed him to write with left hand - he was talking normally again. So yeah, fun old times.

Oh wow, what a contrast, and the lettering looks really good, i can imagine that your lettering on which you spend more time just looks gorgeous!
Reminds me of the time i was into there hand-drawn diaries and journals people were posting online, they just always looked to good to me to be true, even when i saw the work in progress, who the woman was drawing and writing all that in a video, i was just all the time "no way". Why? Because i tried to do this lettering thing for like 2 weeks, and it just doesn't work, cause my hands are shaking as crazy all the time :')
So, point is... very jealous about your lettering haha

Can you show those sketches? :)
