Sheldon doesn't usually recognize sarcasm directed at him, but he is able to direct sarcasm toward others. That's not uncommon for someone with AS.

I never got the impression that Elementary's Sherlock Holmes has AS. Sherlock Holmes from the BBC's Sherlock, on the other hand …
