Autism Uncut Film and Media Awards
Autistic people are often misrepresented, stereotyped, or simply cut out altogether by the media. So we’re launching Autism Uncut, an awards ceremony to celebrate the best of TV, film and media that gives the public a greater picture of autism, the person and what to do.

Our Too Much Information film showed just one experience of autism. We're inviting aspiring filmmakers, film students and professional filmmakers to create original short films, to shed light on the real world of autism – uncensored and uncut – to help more people understand autism, the person and what to do. Your film can be about anything to do with the world of autism (just make sure it's no longer than four minutes long). You might want to show how unexpected changes or social anxiety feel for autistic people, or how sensory overload can affect everyday life.
How to enter
You can enter your film into one of three categories:
The deadline is 1 December 2016. Shortlisted entries will be announced at the end of January 2017.

The awards ceremony
Winners will be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony in April 2017, where we will showcase all of the shortlisted films. Winners of our first ever Autism Uncut Awards will also receive a trophy.

How to enter
You can enter your film into one of three categories:
- aspiring filmmaker (people who are not film or media students or professional filmmakers)
- student filmmaker (students attending a full or part-time course, or who attended a course in the last two years. You may be asked to prove attendance of your course when entering)
- professional filmmaker (people whose paid occupation involves making films eg directing or producing).
The deadline is 1 December 2016. Shortlisted entries will be announced at the end of January 2017.
