A-Z Places

Some may recognise this scene from Game of Thrones. (The cannons were covered up.)

Paul's Famous Smoked Salmon. If you're ever driving down the 101, and you see that homeboy has salmon smoking on a traditional low campfire in his front yard, you need to pull off the highway, and go into Paul's place. You're going to eat the tastiest candied salmon you've ever tried. The kind of flavor that you're going to crave for the rest of your life.

I have driven six hours straight, just to buy ten dollars worth of that salmon. And as soon as I buy a car, I'll do it again.

London Stone, London, England

Fragment of a limestone block now housed at Cannon Street. Of unknown origin and purpose, but there is a reference in 1188 to Henry, son of Eylwin de Londenstane, subsequently Lord Mayor of London.

Drive as far south and east as you can, through the state of Oregon. Nestled between Steen's Mountain, Burns Junction, SW Idaho, and NW Nevada, is the McDermitt Caldera. A massive swath of land that spans Oregon and Nevada for miles and miles. Big black night skies full of the whole swirl of The Milky Way.

The town of McDermitt, located on the statelines of both Oregon and Nevada, is a pretty little high desert town. All of the people of the town and the nearby Fort McDermitt Indian Reservation were just so sweet. True community. Genuinely caring. It's not Mayberry, but it's about as close as you can get to it.

Purdy rocks, clean sky, good people.

Trondheim, Norway

This is the statue of “The Last Viking”, depicting an humble fisherman.

The construction site to the right is the beginning of Zolotoy Most, not the bridge linking the mainland to Russkiy Island.
