    What are your current obsessions?

I visited a reptile zoo a couple of days ago and held a tarantula. Not nearly as scary as it seems, btw. She felt quite nice. I was drawn to the tarantulas after the keeper said they're very sensitive to noise and sound and touch. It reminded me so much of myself. I'm seriously considering...

Do you stim? If so, what are your stims?

I play with my hair, pick at my skin, shake my leg. If I'm very stressed, or there's a bit of sensory overload, I my leg starts to shake or my head starts to nod

Is this a "me" thing, or an ASD thing?

I often think I can hear things, movements upstairs when there's no-one up there. Little noises around the house, eg rustling of paper or something that no-one else can here. This morning I've been convinced I can hear music playing somewhere in the house.

    The Circle

My interview went surprisingly well this morning. I have trouble reading emotions and body language, yes, but I think he was happy. And he was impressed that I'd read the store's website and knew what awards they've won and stuff. So fingers crossed. So far the day has been quiet otherwise. I...

Is this a "me" thing, or an ASD thing?

I'm SO glad this was brought up. I've always had my own world inside my head. It's like an alternate universe that I live in. It's so much more interesting than this world. I can function normally, but every chance I get my brain is away in my "other" world. The one in my head. I thought I was...

Do you think that you enjoy music more than NTs?

I do love music. Any type, I'm not fussy. I have no particularly favorite genre. I love the way it makes me feel, the lyrics, the music, etc. I do tend to listen to it obsessively I guess. If i take a liking to a particular song I'll play it over and over. Also, I'm a very visual person. If I'm...

    Anxiety

I get anxious because I like to know exactly how things are going to work out. What's going to happen? What do I do? What will it result in? etc. If there's uncertainty, or any doubt in how things will go, I do tend to get anxious and worry

    The Circle

I've got a job interview on Saturday. So I spent today preparing for an interview, researching the company, etc. Today was pretty relaxed. Went to my counsellor (who I see due to other non-aspie issues). She's always interested in the aspergers side of things, it's not something she knows much...

    What are your sensory issues?

I don't like sudden loud noises. I do jump. I don't like loud noises in general, loud tv, hoover, loud music, etc. I don't get as frightened as I did when I was a kid, but I do get anxious. I can feel my chest tighten and my stomach knot up if there's loud noises. I don't like being touched or...

Are you content in your isolation?

Most of the time, yeah. I'm perfectly happy being alone. Sometimes I would like to have more friends or a better social live, but most of the time I'd rather be alone.

Your obsessions when you were a child? (Or your child's obsessions?)

Toy animals, books, pretending to be a cook, music, drawing, dancing, etc. My obsessions changed constantly, but they were intense when I was going through them.

    Aspie social rule book.

#14 If someone repeatedly borrows money (or other things repeatedly) from you every time you get your paycheck (Even if they pay it back within days) it doesn't mean they're close to you, or that they value your friendship, it means they're simply using you because they know you'll give them the...

Do you talk like an Aspie?

I can't record right now, but I do have a very, very monotone voice, I'm told. It's very flat, I can't inject emotion into my voice and I talk very fast. Very fast. And have trouble controlling the volume of my voice. I always speak either too quietly or too loudly.
