Self-Actualisation and Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

For myself personally, I feel that I'm not able to self-actualise, not just because I've been unable to fulfil my potential but also because there's no place for me in the world. I've never had a job or a relationship and am very lonely and unhappy. An unfulfilling job and/or a crap relationship...

A Healthy Aspie is a Happy Aspie

There's nothing I can do about my Asperger's syndrome...but I can certainly do something about my health. I was diagnosed with type II diabetes a year ago and I've been able to lose over six stone in weight and get quite fit for my age - I think my Asperger's syndrome has helped me because I'm...

Self-Actualisation and Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

I hope this isn't getting too technical, but I'm sure there are a lot of points that are relevant to autism. I know that I'm convinced that the simplest and most concise way of putting things is for me to state that because of my Asperger's syndrome and my circumstances I'm unable to...

    Are Aspies Non-Conformist?

Personally I just want there to be a place for me in the world...and I'd be prepared to pretty much whatever's required to make that happen.

    It's All I've Got

I suppose my blog is my obsession...or maybe it's just a keen interest. I get so much from it - it's a walking and travel blog and so I get to be motivated to go out walking and travelling and meet people and take plenty of photos [I'm just another person when I'm walking - even a bit of an...

    All Cats Have Asperger Syndrome

I haven't read the book but I certainly agree with the statement that's the title.

The Benefits Of Having A Job

Apart from the salary, what do think the main benefit of having a job is? For me it would be the dignity and social acceptance that would come with being employed...far more important than the money to me.

Never worked, never drove, just realized ASD

I've never driven or had a job...and there are a lot of other things I haven't done [not by choice]

How do you deal with breakups?

I've never had a relationship so can't comment about breaking up; I would like to be able to though.

The Great Importance of Teaching Deferred Gratification

Having a strong sense of deferred gratification has kept me sane over the decades, I've waited long enough now though and need something to happen.

New autism book urges parents to give kids 'Loving Push'

I totally agree, not many people who are carers or work in Social Services do though.

    Gardening

I enjoy sitting in my garden. Fortunately where I live, in England, if the sun's shining it's usually warm enough for me to sit out in the winter. I've recently sowed a few seeds and am looking forward to watching them flower later.

asperger men should not feel discouraged by females.

I don't even get to the stage of being rejected...it's as though I don't exist.

    Our own country?

A country where only Aspies can live? You've got to be joking; it would be Hell;. Nothing would function. There'd be too many 'precious snowflakes' to get anything done.

    Hard Science Fiction

I like hard sci-fi because it concentrates on ideas and not people and their relationships. So much of recent sci-fi on TV and in films has merely been soap opera set in space or the future. Do you agree with this analysis?
