Cat cafes

These are becoming popular in towns I gather and so went along to our local one. I had a support worker and my social worker with me. You have to pay £5 admission and food and drink inside is fairly expensive too so despite the good cause these places will make a good profit.

But the point of them is still sincere. Animals are uber-therapeutic particularly for auties and the staff there are thinking about having a weekly chill session for an autism group.

Here are a couple of photos from the visit.

The two cats in pic1 are Liquorice with Clifford and in Pic2 the ginger cat is called Max.

One staff lives in each night at the cafe and looks after the cats who have a room of their own where they all sleep.

On the day we visited, there were about seven or eight members of staff working. And when we got to the car my social worker realised that we had not paid for our refreshments and so we had to walk back in and explain but they were very nice about it.

I have not checked the internet but I have heard that more places like this are springing up and maybe there is one in your town?

I don't know if there's anything similar in the US or, more importantly, close to where I live. Doubt it, but it looks like a neat concept - I wouldn't mind at all visiting one. Good for killing stress if you can deal with all that fur!
