How do you get into a relationship?

See, that's the thing. We've clicked so naturally I haven't had to TRY to ask him questions--they come out organically. Once it occurred to me that a long-term relationship could emerge, though, I started becoming self-conscious and behaving unnaturally. I'm afraid this is what will ruin everything.

How do you get into a relationship?

I feel that I've met the person I'll have my first real romantic relationship with, but I don't know the steps to get there. I remember in high school people would suddenly couple up but I don't know the conversations that took people between them before they became official. Later, when I was...

Is it a good idea to apply for a few different positions at a big company?

I usually read that it's not because it makes it look like you don't know what you want, but having worked at a really big company (5000+), I wonder if it's the same, since the positions will be in different departments and the hiring managers probably don't even consult with each other about...

Was told I'll need to improve my "communication skills" if I want to be hired directly :/

re: "go to speech therapist" I considered this a few years ago and even did a research on speech disorder, although I no longer remember every detail. I do remember that what I have would be called "cluttering," and apparently it's not something a speech therapist would be able to help with...

Was told I'll need to improve my "communication skills" if I want to be hired directly :/

Yeah. I'm pretty good at writing and email has been my main method of communication as a contractor. I'm still hoping there's still some way for me to work for the company directly so I won't have to go through more interviews (and everyone here already knows me anyway), which is why I wondered...

Was told I'll need to improve my "communication skills" if I want to be hired directly :/

Right now I'm a contractor. In general people like my work, but I was recently told if I want to be hired directly I'll have to improve my "communication skills," which really means my speaking ability. I've had issues with speaking my whole life. I've made significant progress in the past...

Is forgetting a lot an Aspie trait?

I'm dating someone who I suspect is on the spectrum, and he seems to forget A LOT. Is it possibly an Aspie trait, or could he be saying "I forgot" a lot because it's easy? (I used to say "I don't know" a lot because it was easy.)

I think I just broke up with my non-boyfriend

I'm not sure what the next step is. I don't have a lot of friends to begin with and he was one of my closer friends, and now every time I see something I'd normally take a picture of to text to him, I can't do that. I'm not even sure if it was a fight or a break-up. I feel like he was catching...

Ignored/Dismissed when providing a logical answer backed by facts

At this point of my life I actually have a group of female friends, and we mostly just goof around without having any "real" conversations. The problem is, whenever we do have a "real" conversation their POV tends to be mainstream and mine is something they would consider weird, and I've noticed...

Friends driving me NUTS with assumption I want a romantic relationship

So I didn't have any friends when I was growing up and I'm not sure if this is normal girl talk, but two of my closest friends (who I hang out with separately) always default to "do you want him?" whenever the mention of a guy comes up. I'm okay with the occasional, casual mentions of "he's...

Constantly feeling like you're not good enough?

I'm known at work as a hard worker, which actually stems from my insecurity that I'm not smart enough or I don't work as fast as anyone else (I usually know maybe 2-3 people who I know for sure work slower than I do, but I've convinced myself they're the slackers--not the people I should compare...

    Dress to impress?

    I agree with this.

    Dress to impress?

For women, sometimes it's not limited to the clothing you wear. When people think of a "professional" career woman, they also think of a woman who wears makeup, high heels, gets her eyebrows/hair professionally done, and maybe wears (professionally done) nail polish. I'm older than you and I've...

    Aspies: What Upsets You?

I hate when people who know less about a subject than I do start implying that I'm wrong, and then I let it go because being right isn't worth losing the friendship, and then later the person would hold it against me in a unrelated conversation where they sense a potential argument coming in...
