    Relationships

This might be a weird thing to say, but it might be good if you experience some anxiety- the neurotypical friends I have who do have anxiety problems are usually easier to relate to. I can frame my aspie problems in terms of anxiety and it makes communication much easier. If your guy has anxiety...

What is your newest interest or obsession?

Skyrim! I've had a game going for about two years but never got very far, then recently all I can think about is wanting to level my character. I've got a skyrim pandora station, am working on a Lydia cosplay, and when it's my turn at the tv that's what I'm doing.

    Spectrum and migraine?

I had a bad year of them last year, but so far this year has been pretty minimal. Blood tests ruled out many causes, my dr still wants me to go in for an EMR but since they have almost stopped completely I've been putting it off. I've started a new position in the company that is less stressful...

    Clues in childhood photos

There are many photos of me with fake smiles, and a few from early childhood where I was stimming, before I even knew what that was. We had some blankets with the satin edges, and when I'd curl up in them I'd instinctively hold it to my face to feel and smell the fibers, or I'd roll the edge in...

    Work stress and contact issues?

Communication is the first thing to go for me as well. It's one of the most unnecessary parts of life that can absolutely wait until I get my head back on straight. Anyone who knows me well knows that I'll sometimes go quiet but will pop back on the scene when I'm ready. This is intriguing...

What's some of your favorite positive effects of your ASD?

Ability to focus on learning new skills. This year I taught myself to quilt and last year to crochet. It's definitely the most enjoyable part for my family because I keep making them gifts haha

    Trouble following movies

I definitely do, when I first met my boyfriend we became friends on facebook, and even though I did (and do) find him very handsome I could never just picture what he looked like in my head. So I'd picture his facebook profile picture and that would jog my memory. The problem I have following...

    Do people constantly misread you?

My boyfriend and I did a little lie test with me, where he'd ask me questions and I'd either try to lie convincingly or tell the truth. And of course he knows which is true because we'd been together a while. Anyway after a few minutes of this he told me I'm more convincing when I lie than when...

Which ASD traits do you not have?

Thanks everybody for sharing, even though learning about Aspergers was an "aha!" moment for me, sometimes I still feel like I don't fit the mold quite well enough, and people act like the problems I have are because I'm choosing to, not because I'm different than most people.

Does anyone else have issues with kissing because of hyper sensitivity!

Yeah it is too intense sometimes. Especially if somebody doesn't want to shave his face, then it's almost intolerable. Which makes me flinch, which annoys him because "it's not that bad". Coming from a person with no sensory issues who isn't trying to make out with a porcupine. Grumble grumble.

    What is your social kryptonite?

Pop culture references. I keep up on current events but I don't know half the names of the actors out there, I don't go to the movies and I listen to NPR on the radio.

Blog post compares us to psychopaths

This reads like someone lashing out after a bad breakup, and has trouble with pesky "facts".

    Are you NOT taking medication?

I'm not but lately I've been feeling like I should be.

    Exhaustion from every day activities

I've been having trouble with this lately as well. Last week I went to the doctor and had some blood work done, and we've ruled out anemia, diabetes, hypoglycemia, and thyroid malfunction. I also have persistent headaches and dizziness which no treatment has helped, so up next for me is an MRI...
