Have you ever been discouraged or critisized for your hobby or interest?

Writer, musician, painter, athlete etc. I doubt ANY artist you've seen in the last 50 years was supported by family. Mehh, in the last 500 years! You can make money out of it, of course, but you gotta be good. Some people love soccer, but can't play it for s**t.

Wise words from Nicholas Cage. I'm Slavic, bread is in my blood. (Sorry for being off topic)

And I hope I'll someday eat a piece of bread.

    is this normal

Well, there's always some old lady waiting to take a seat. They'll sprint if they see a free seat, ironic... And I guess the social norm is to help the population older than you. I don't see how it's rude for me to sit if I'm 20 and don't give a seat to a woman who's 40, but mehh... Complicated...

ASPIES WHO HAD A HARD TIME ACCEPTING THEIR DIAGNOSIS

Probably everyone were a bit sceptical at some point. I mean, here you have a person who told you that you are 1 out of 1000 and you're supposed to take his opinion? You would be nuts if you didn't question that!

I've heard that "there's no bread in art" line a gazillion times.

WHAT IS YOUR ONE BIG TURNOFF WHEN LOOKING FOR A PARTNER?

Being a 'snob' is certainly the biggest turn off. Lack of intelligence isn't that much of a turn off, it's just that you know it's impossible to ever connect on a deeper level. Lack of humor.

    Electrical engineer with aspergers

Welcome! You know, my brother has ASD and is an engineer as well!
  9. Balkan1996

how to bring up the Aspie discussion?

People in general love to talk about themselves. Your partner wouldn't be offended in any way. Further more, he would be thriled!

I passed autism to my daughter.

Why do you feel bad? You did a wonderful thing...

What stage do you feel it's was the most difficult one; childhood, adolescence, or adulthood?

I think adolescence is the most difficult part of one's life IN GENERAL. It's a part of time when older people suddenly start to hate you with no apparent reason (only because you're not a kid). You're constantly frustrated and under 'those' hormones. The worst part is that your family starts...

Do You Have 'Meltdown Days' With no Apparent Trigger?

Yes, it's that thing we do because we can't control our emotions. Nothing unusual AND you can work on that to improve it! Mind makes you skilled. Experience makes you master.

People with a disability should try harder!

People gotta stop acting like Asperger's is a disability. Albert Einstein had ADHD and ASD and what did he become? I agree, what your partner says is a bit ignorant, but we're just dragging this out of the context. Also, Asperger's is a dominate gene, meaning your children have 60-70% chances...

    Why aren't you social?

Well, not realistic in capitalistic society with extremely low moral values. Otherwise, she could be perfectly normal.

    Why aren't you social?

Every rule has it's exceptions. This woman which you speak of is, indeed, a perfect example. With those high moral values she qualifies as an benevolent alien... I'm trying to have a positive view on the world and I concentrate on the good people. While it's hard to find them, they can be...
