    Age of Diagnosis

Did you guys hear about the device that can identify Autism as early as 9 months? It is based on eye contact and measuring that eye contact in fractions of a second.

Calling all Neurotypicals (and others): Could we use this here?

I have so many clients who bring up relationship issues. This is a must have!

Do you find advice or life coaching for NT's useless for you?

Any therapy or coaching designed for NTs is ineffective for those on the spectrum. That is why I broke free of my therapist training and became a life coach specifically for those on the Autism Spectrum. I find my clients are happy with my work and understanding for their very specific needs.

    Aspies Central couples/friends/etc.

Is there anyone who isn't interested in a Romantic Relationship at all? Sort of like Temple Grandin?

If you had the chance to meet Hans Asperger, would you?

Of course! He would be fascinated at the progress and new information on what he recognized!

I.Q. 131 normal for an aspie?

What many people do not know is that even though an Aspie may have a high or average IQ, if you break the IQ test down into sections you will see areas of poor performance and areas of extremely good performance but since an IQ test is one score it averages out to average or high overall IQ...

social problem. need to pull my finger out help please.

Being withdrawn and isolated is what keeps us from going out into the world, but then the world reminds us why we stay withdrawn and isolated. There are ways to break the cycle, fix the anxieties one by one until the world feels safe again and being alone and isolated becomes boring instead of...

The World Is Not What I Expected

Nothing worth doing in life is easy. Take what you are good at and make it work for you. Do whatever it takes. Do not waste time or energy trying to learn something you will be mediocre at or hate. Do what you love and do it the best you possibly can. There are ways to make money doing...

Newbee needing support in a strange Aspie encounter

You have no obligation to help him. Helping him will only cause you harm. I feel for him just as you do, but your number one priority is yourself. Please distance yourself from him and seek out a healthy, mutual relationship. You cannot waste your time on him because he is not going to...

    Eating Habits

What's curious to me is how some of my clients have such an extreme aversion to certain foods, but then as I get them to try new things that aversion goes away. I'd love to know what happens in their mind when they no longer feel a food is "yucky" and actually enjoy and seek it out.

    Aspies and Unwritten Rules

Unwritten rules are also assumptions. If two or more people have the same assumptions the unwritten rules work. If one or more people do not assume the same things, the unwritten rules fall apart and there is conflict. Why do you think there is so much conflict in the world? Misunderstandings...

    Aspies and Unwritten Rules

Unfortunately, we only have your perspective here and cannot get the other people's perspective. There is no way to say for sure if you broke an unwritten rule or not because if you missed it you won't know what to convey in your story. We need your friend's input in order to determine it for...

    social side becoming messed up

There is another saying that says "Take it one day at a time." I say, "Take it one moment at a time." Live in the present moment. If you can do that, you're accomplished a great feat.

    social side becoming messed up

You become whole again one step at a time. Pick one thing, rather than everything that needs to be fixed, and start there. One success will lead to another, and another, and another...you just have to pick a place to start and start! If you need help let me know.
