Running

I love to run and am very competitive in it. It relaxes me. I've met several other runners through my years that also have aspergers or autisim or autistic tendencies. I think a lot of long distance athletes may have autistic tendencies since you focus on one task for a long period. I also do much better socially during a run. I'm guessing this is because some of the focus has shifted from socializing to running so there are less social rules to follow. Any one else here run?

Hi! I recently picked up my running, and I must admit; feels great! For me it's more of a way to lose some tension. I find it very difficult to relax during the day, so running in the evening is a real good solution :) And, I run alone so lots of time to think about things I didn't have time for during school!

I used to run for miles, everyday, I switched to skating so easier to keep up and less pain in my knees as I got older. But I loved it, and I didn't have to talk much or interact with anyone which made it even better. And I no longer had to worry about striking out on the 3rd out anymore or coaches that painfully tried to make me social. I could be my quiet self and all I had to do was run :)
