Old-fashioned Advertisements

I know there are a lot of these people who don't like these adverts and for legitimate reasons, but there's just a simple charm to them that I can't help but like:

PG Tipps - Chimps

This is the secret behind why Santa is always so jolly. It says "Frydenlunds Beer for Christmas". He's plastered. Drunk driving those poor reindeer.

Paul Hogan did years of adverts for Winfield, always with the phrase "Anyhow, have a Winfield.". The company got in to trouble when we first started putting serious health warnings on cigarette packets.

In huge letters on the outside of the packet it said "Warning. Smoking Kills." and just underneath that it said "Anyhow, have a Winfield.".

I like this one, Lucky Strike will help you become fitter and run faster and it protects your throat from irritation and coughing. Those are facts. I miss the days when you just had to light up a Lucky to become a healthy athlete.

The history of grunge fashion is funny and interesting. Someone from one of the early Seattle groups had a dad who was a co-founder of REI, if I'm not mistaken. So part of the fashion came from wearing hiking clothes as hand-me-downs.
that is a really interesting tidbit!
