Do you use the internet to socialize?

I actually once bumped into someone who I never knew but met on the internet and she was exactly how she was on the internet and this happened just co-incidently, that's actually quite scary.

But I never thought she would be so tall. followed by her two friends.

I have both a Facebook and a Myspace page, but I'm hardly ever active on my Myspace anymore. I find online conversing to be much easier than real life conversing, in that I have more time to think of a response and the person with whom I'm conversing doesn't notice as many things awkward about me as they would in real life.

Yes. I've been using MSN, AIM, and Yahoo for years now.

Feel free to add me on any of these protocols. I'm always logged into all three at the same time.

i am always on facebook, msn and forums. i guess i find it easier to make friends online than in RL.

Yes i mostly use Forums and Facebook and other IMs to talk to alot of people it just easier for me than in real life

I use Facebook to keep in contact with my family in England, and to play Vampire Wars ;)
I use MSN to talk to people when I can be bothered, though I usually lurk as "Appear Offline" till someone interesting logs in
Youtube I use allt he time, it's great! I watch webisodes on there, current favorite being The Guild. Check it out, gamers!
I have Skype, though I don't use it so much, I'm just logged in incase anyone decides to call me.

I used to use Bebo (Like Calvert) back before Facebook, and I've also had a few Myspace pages, though I never really understood what was so great about it. I've had about 3 VampireFreaks accounts too, and that was great, but it's kinda hard to keep up with it after a while, so..

Someone had the same name as me on VampireFreaks, I one time searched my name to catch up on some posts that I missed on a forum and I saw this guy called "superboyian" and I lol'ed, he closed his account now but that was actually pretty funny coincidence really. :lol2:

I've actually been more social lately. I've been on Skype with a few friends who are on the spectrum, been talking a lot on MSN, using Facebook and been on webcam.

My internet social life is a lot better than my IRL social life.
The main thing apart from obsession binges that I use the internet for is socialising, I go on forums, facebook, MSN and recently skype. But I'm a noob at skype, I'm not good with the phone conversations.

I have found that the internet is a good way to have a form of social contact. I use MSN to talk to a three to four people, three from other forums and one from an aspie forum. I have not tried to use microphone, mostly because of my speech impediment or webcam because it's quite daunting but I do type. I find that by typing I am able to express myself much better than I have ever done in real life and I think there has been some improvement in this regard because it's practising.

This forum is nearly the only instance of me socializing on the internet. I used to really look down on people for socializing on the internet (it seemed like they never did anything of substance there), but I have become more open-minded lately.

I am on Facebook but I only use to to keep in touch with family. (People always want to friend me, I accept but then ignore them otherwise because I have little interest in their lives).
I have a blog but only a couple of family members and a friend read it.
I am on Twitter but when I make posts they are really for nobody, because I have only one friend who reads my posts.

I am finding this forum now...I socialize using the internet only. I am like a few of you in that Irl is quite for me. So this (internet) I use to express myself. Everything about me is on here, my blog. So, that is all.

:D

I use Facebook to socialize because unfortunately, I have no other options. See, I've just graduated from from high school, and I'm at home all the time. And my mom works during the the day, so I don't know what else to do. Most of my other friends are either in college or working, so the only time I know when they're available to talk is when a message says they're online.

I didn't realise I went off topic the first time, but anyways yes I use the internet to socialize probably more than I actually do IRL.

Yep, its so much easier socializing on the net, even though I am not much of an initiator. I'm very passive and find it easier to say how I feel when I don't have to be face to face to communicate.
