Are You Guys Open About Your Interests? Or Do You Hide Them?

I'm very open about mine, and people who know I have AS know I get obsessive, but if they don't know, and I get obsessive I guess they don't put 2 and 2 together

I hide my special interest because it's erotic photography of the feminine beauty.
I'm afraid most people would consider it as porn.*

I'm open. Ask away! lol

I don't mind talking about my interests at all, it's just the stuff I'm not interested in (professional sports, hunting, politics, just to name a few things) that I won't want any involvement.

Birds! But people get annoyed with my singleminded focus, and my family always complains if I talk about them too long, so I don't talk about them unless someone asks.

I'm open since my interests aren't unusual. Though unlike some people on the spectrum I have varied interests and not just one special thing I like.

I used to be more open about my interest in different languages, but I noticed it lead people to believe I was more competent than I actually was so I shut up about it. I do let people know that I'm interested in heavy metal and reading science fiction. I generally keep it to myself that I'm a furry, though I don't hide the fact that I like wolves. (I wear wolf shirts everywhere. I have a fake tail too, but I don't wear that.)

Funny story, in my class I submitted two stories that involved wolves. I had a third one that didn't, and I was going to submit that one until one of my classmates said he liked how I had a "consistent theme." So I wrote a third story with a magical talking coyote in it. Because why not.

Some of them I'm open about to an extent, but most people don't know just how obsessed I am about some things. I'm able to keep from ranting about them because I use forums dedicated to most of my interests, since talking about the subject is what's expected. So those prevent me from having to yammer on about an interest to people in real life.

I can't find a forum where people just discuss grammar, though. There are some that answer questions about it, but not really have laid-back discussions about all the wonderful facets of the English language. I don't know anyone else who is interested in grammar, so I'm lonely on that front. Luckily I have a job as an editor, so I can indulge in it as much as I want.

Have you tried linguistics forums? They aren't dedicated to English grammar, but a lot of what makes English grammar interesting is how it behaves in comparison to other languages.

I would be content to talk about the Boston Bruins 24/7 but I know my coworkers don't share that interest . Thank God for hockey message boards !

I am open about two of my special interests but, not all of them. Those closest to me do know all of them but, as a general rule all but cooking and music are confidential information about me. Obviously, if one were to snoop about my home a bit, they would discover all but one and, that one would take a lot more than snooping to get me to discuss, unless it's your interest as well. (BDSM without intercourse or oral - yeah out there so you see why that is not known to most. I like the bondage and dominance submission aspects and, even mild pain combined with pleasure but, not the actual having sex part, so it's a bit unusual but, if my partner will play, it's great.)

Me, my interests, I dont hide them. That I can tell you. Here they are ...

My interests are Disney, New Zealand ancient fauna like the Haast Eagle and the Moa, the Ice Age series, 80 and 90s music as well as genealogy.
