He's done that before.
I know I look all over when one of the cats isn't where I expect them to be.

Does he have an enclosed place of his own,
like a box or tent he can go to when he wants?

Check the windowsills. Cats usually hide on windowsills behind curtains.

I found him. He was stuck behind a large TV cabinet and he has bloody scrapes on his legs. I patted the scrapes down with wet paper towels and he’s by my side.
