When I had tropical fish, sometimes the tanks would get over run with snails that had hitchhiked in on the plants. Books say to just crush the snails between your thumb and finger and leave them in the tanks. I never did that. Never. The snail over population worked itself out, always, without me resorting to that.

Hoo boy I'm glad to read that!!! :D Squishing snails is disgusting... I once stepped on a slug in the kitchen in the middle of the night...no idea why it wanted to come in.

I have been thinking, for awhile this year, of catching one or two slugs & having them in doors in a very small (5 gallon) fish tank. Slugs are sort of neat to watch & they wdn't need any heat or really special equipment. Fortunately for the freedom loving local slugs?????I don't have a place that I could put the tank. :)
