    Autism & Suffer From Photophobia

There are places where you can get a tint that isn't too dark, but still cuts down on harsh glare. My specs are a 40% greenish grey, which I also wear at night. It works for me, but a different tint might work better for others. You'd need to experiment.

    Autism & Suffer From Photophobia

I'm definitely photophobic. I always have my tinted glasses on whenever I leave the house, day or night. I keep them on indoors because many places have fluorescent lighting, which I find intolerable. I don't wear them at home, since our lights aren't as harsh and we keep things fairly dim. I...

What Is The Best Movie About Asperger's Syndrome?

By most definitions, an aspie is autistic. No worries.

Mary and Max is a great movie. I think I'll go watch it again.

What Is The Best Movie About Asperger's Syndrome?

Great choices! Both movies were awesome. I really enjoyed Mary and Max, and I watched Chocolate twice in a row. LOL

Can't stand Asperger's has a "high functioning" connotation

I agree with your point on psychologists, but I have trouble believing that AS is not a form of ASD. It's not just about the social aspects, it's also about the sensory sensitivities as well as other issues. Aspies just have those sensitivities to a lesser extent than those with a more severe ASD.

Does anyone walk on their toes, or been told a lot that they walk differently or funny?

I always walk on my toes when I don't have shoes on. I hate the feeling of the floor under my feet, especially if it is a bare floor. I feel every single speck of dirt and what-not, and I can't stand it! And if I'm standing still I'm usually standing on the sides of my feet, to minimize contact...

    Coffee.

I am the same way, for the most part. I enjoy my coffee first thing in the morning, and again in the afternoon, but it never seems to actually wake me up. Sometimes its just the opposite and I feel quite relaxed after a cup. My sister is the same way.

    Still new to this...

Hi all! As the title says, I'm still new to all this. I learned of my "aspie-ness" last August, when I finally looked up Asperger's to find out what it was all about. It was actually a friend of mine, who is also an aspie, who had told me over and over to look it up. And now I know why. the more...
