    What are your current obsessions?

ooh ooh, I just developed anothr one I'd like to share: Fatal Theme Park accidents in history. Especially Disneyland. A young woman was crushed between a rotating wall and a stationary one at the America Sings exhibit at Disneyland in '74. I suppose it interests me because I can't even...

Kay this is kind of a rant, but I'd like some advice

I am so sick of my situation, and I know vent won't do anything. Above all, I'm kinda just looking for help and support. I moved back home after the last spring semester. I am 23, have maybe $30 to my name, and have to pay off student loans soon. It's tough enough finding a job and making...

    What are your current obsessions?

I've developed two in the part week: both for specific people. The first one was for James Dean. I watched Rebel Without a Cause and saw Giant some time ago. Now I'm really interested in him. The second one came last night. It's for Jackie Kennedy. I dunno if anyone else in the States...

    Aspies: Atypical or Advanced Vocabulary?

Yep, that sounds like me, at least the first part. i think I exaggerate a lot of my Aspie behavior to try and get a laugh out of people. They think it's funny that I'm awkward so I sorta use it to my advantage to make people laugh.

Is this a "me" thing, or an ASD thing?

Oh God, isn't it hella awkward when people do?

    Aspies: Atypical or Advanced Vocabulary?

I like the phrase 'as far as' when I am nervous at like a job interview or something. I need to stop. It makes no sense.

Getting Bored of Your Obsessions Super-Quickly

I used to really love the American version of The Office. Now I hate it and I think the British one is better. But I got over it fairly quickly and my family likes to watch it on netflix, so I am usually in my room when they watch it. My brother must have seen every episode at least ten...

    Aspies: Atypical or Advanced Vocabulary?

thing is: a lot of the bigger words have gone into my repeated word repertoire, which makes me think that, at least with some words, it's unconscious. Even something like, say 'demographic' in place of 'group' has become a norm for me. How about the second part of my question: Anyone feel like...

    Aspies: Atypical or Advanced Vocabulary?

I feel just the opposite. I think it's a conscious effort for me because I don't want new people to think I'm an idiot or something, so I sorta do it to prove myself. I dunno, I suppose sometimes it's unconscious though. It's half-and-half.

    Aspies: Atypical or Advanced Vocabulary?

So when I was finishing up part of my testing for AS the other day, the speech therapist brought it to my attention that I have a very atypical vocabulary. I use some big words, bigger than necessary to convey my ideas. I read that a more advanced vocabulary is sometimes observed in Asperger...

Getting Bored of Your Obsessions Super-Quickly

I remember being really into Farmville for a few weeks maybe. Never Facebook chat with a friend when both parties are intoxicated: that is what I learned from that. LOL! Girl tells me: "Get a Farmville, Let's be neighbors!" HA!!! I'll be honest and say I was actually super into it for a while.

Getting Bored of Your Obsessions Super-Quickly

I like how you threw a picture in there. Awesome! Sometimes they'll resurface after being dormant for months or years. But esp with TV and movies, I'm moony about something for a short time, then done. Maybe it has to do with the intensity that we express for things. It just gets to be too...

Getting Bored of Your Obsessions Super-Quickly

This happens to me all the time. And I was wondering if anyone else gets it. I'll be really obsessed with something, like I was with the Amish around January, and then all of a sudden, for seemingly no apparent reason, I will tire of it. I have tons of books on a great deal of subjects that I...

    What Is Your Favorite Number?

Kay yeah, I guess that makes sense. I think obsessing over a number is something not everyone does though. Anyway, you reminded me of this: Jennifer 8. Lee - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia She's a Chinese-American Journalist who changed her middle name to 8 precisely because it has that lucky...
