Anyone Else Forgetful When It Comes To Names?

I'm terrible with names. Usually I can't quite hear what they are, and even if I do manage to catch someone's name I can never remember and recognise faces anyway so I can't associate the name with anything.

Does anyone else play songs in their head (purposefully)?

Not on purpose, no. Usually when that happens I find it very irritating. Sometimes I have to "finish" the song though before I can carry on with whatever I was doing before it started - usually it starts again a few seconds later. Argh! EDIT: It's annoying when I can't remember the whole song...

Does anyone find advertising to be really stupid?

I should also add that anyone who *does* fall for advertising is really stupid themselves.

Does anyone find advertising to be really stupid?

I find advertising very stupid. Not just TV advertising, but any kind of advertising. Firstly, I doubt it actually achieves much. Nobody that I know has ever intentionally clicked on an online advert, in fact most have ad blockers, and most online adverts are spam anyway. Most people mute TV...

    Obsessions that change a lot

I have one or two big ones that I've had pretty much my whole life and then I have small ones that come and go. Those usually last anywhere from a few days to a few months. Sometimes they return after a while.

    Audio Patterns?

This always happens to me. It makes the audio in a lot of games sound quite unrealistic (at least, 5 or 10 years ago when I used to play games) and I developed a system which partially avoided the problem by overlaying multiple different recordings of the same sound (e.g. the sound of an...

    Routines vs. Schedules

If I make the schedule then it's good (provided that I have the determination to stick to it - procrastination and becoming distracted are two of my biggest flaws) but if someone else tries to make me follow a schedule that they've devised then they can expect a meltdown. :-) My own schedule I...

Do we drink more fluids than NTs?

I'm always really thirsty. I usually drink a whole cup of water before every meal, and one mid-morning and one mid-afternoon, and another before I go to bed (otherwise I wake up in the middle of the night very thirsty and can't get back to sleep). When I go out for the day, I have to take two...

Does anyone else hate bathroom hand dryers?

I never like the paper towels. I prefer the dryers EXCEPT: They are usually too hot They usually don't turn on unless you stick your hand right underneath, where it is too hot and you run the risk of accidentally touching the underneath of the dryer which is likely to be dirty They turn off too...

How many aspies does it take to...

Quite true! Perhaps that's why, so far, the lightbulb has not been changed - we have been trying to work in teams, and have different ideas as to what each of us should do.

How many aspies does it take to...

Well, no. Would an aspie think of that? Another aspie to remind the aspie before him to ask if there are rules, rather than having a meltdown.

How many aspies does it take to...

One aspie to interrupt the changing of the lightbulb with vocal stimming. One aspie to have a meltdown due to a lack of rules for changing the lightbulb (that would be me, as I tend to have meltdowns when there aren't enough rules for how something is to be done).

How many aspies does it take to...

Since when had the new lightbulb actually been inserted?

Is it obvious that you are aspergic

I can't believe that there's actually someone else who uses the term "Aspergic"!

How many aspies does it take to...

One sighted aspie with an obsession about blindness to insist that light bulbs are actually redundant and that sighted people can live in the dark just like blind people do. One blind aspie to infodump about different kinds of blindness and how a lot of blind people do have basic perception of...
