    Autism fakers

Oof, I was in a couple of those. I had to leave them. The only posts actually about autism were about how to get diagnosed (including a few "my doctor said I don't have it, can someone give me recs for a doctor who will say I do?" posts). There wasn't anything about how to exist as an autistic...

    Reading comprehension

Thank you for the advice. I sometimes have issues seeing the key points, but I should probably try to condense anyways. My hands always hurt after I study, lol.

    Autism fakers

Thank you! Help is such a good song. The whole album is one of my favourites. Yeah, online communities are hard for me. I don't feel like I fit into any of them. Yes, that political stuff seems to be what's happening. I love ASAN in theory (I've spoken with some of the higher-ups in the past...

    Reading comprehension

I also have horrible reading comprehension. If I don't basically rewrite the whole paper or textbook into my own words in a notebook, I wouldn't understand any of it (and that doesn't really help that much either)

Did you have an IEP/ILP in school?

I never did but I should have. It was in my diagnosis papers but I went to private school and they didn't do that. I was supposed to have someone to help with my organization, executive functioning, and social skills. In college I didn't qualify for anything because I hadn't had any IEP or...

Hate getting water on my skin

I'm mostly okay with showering (as long as I dry off immediately afterwards, because I hate the feeling of dripping), but I've never been able to handle water on my face or in my eyes to the point where I don't know how to swim. One drop and I'm basically in a fetal position on the floor. My...

    Autism fakers

I know a ton of autism fakers. I know more fakers than actual autistics at this point. I used to be part of an IRL autism group. It got overtaken by people who wanted to be quirky and convinced all their friends to be quirky, too. They dominated the group and made the autistic people so...

    Shyness and ASD

I am terribly shy. A few days ago a kid in one of my classes told me he'd never heard me speak before. I guess I don't have many friends because of shyness.

Why is my reading comprehension so bad?

I'm a sophomore in high school and I can read the words, but I have no idea what they say. I've read whole books without knowing the plot. It really stinks in school. Does anyone else have this problem or have any solutions?

Are friends or family members disbelieving about your ASD?

Well, I just got back from a trip to see my grandma and my aunt, uncle, and cousin. Apparently my grandma, aunt, and somehow my 10-year-old cousin (I doubt it though) read the book about Asperger's by Tony Attwood and have decided that I don't have it (my uncle has abstained from saying that)...

    Hello all.

Wow, that's cool. I have never heard a Beatles song on the radio. I wish I have, though.

Let it Go - Autism Version

Wow. That's great. Thanks for sharing that :)

    Hello all.

I don't think I can say my favourite Beatles song... that's almost impossible ;) But I do like Rain, Paperback Writer, and Day Tripper a lot.

Are friends or family members disbelieving about your ASD?

My family is, especially my grandma. Ever since I got professionally diagnosed with Asperger's, I have been saying that I'm an Aspie. But my grandma refuses to believe that I have anything "wrong" (it's really not wrong but I don't know what word to use, sorry) with me. She said, "I think you're...
