    Soul Mates

Surely the term itself is merely another way for one person to express love for another, nothing to do with actual souls (in which I do not believe). Love isn't a rational thing, so it's almost inevitable that it breeds irrational ideas such as soul mates. You don't even need to know someone to...

Sometimes I can't help but hate women, and be ashamed to be one.

It was always girls that bullied me in school, too. Females can definitelly be more vocally vicious.

    NT-bashing in the ASD community

It's just another aspect of "us and them" syndrome, a sort of modern tribalism: anyone not belonging to our tribe is an enemy, etc. People can come up with all kinds of excuses for disliking anyone not like them, but it is ultimately a primal instinct and has no rational basis in this age.

    Self absorbed.

What Anne said. Plus, selfishness and ego are primary facets of human nature (the human race wouldn't be where it is now if they weren't), but I see self-absorbtion as something different entirely: if a person finds things difficult in society, has few friends, and doesn't really engage in...

    Becoming less desperate for companionship

I have the same problem with getting too attached to women. I find the only way to stop myself is to cut off all contact permanently. As for trust, I've never trusted anyone. Trust is like faith, based on an assumption/hope that what you believe is true, even though there's no possible way to...

What is the meaning in your life?

Artistic expression I guess is the short answer ;) Through music, writing novels and poems, and painting. Firstly it satisfies me, keeps me on an even keel, and, on rare occasions, it satisfies others. It's the only way I can "communicate" fluently.

How often do you go out?

I don't go out often, no, but since getting in touch with a few friends again I have been out, to the cinema and walking mostly. It's pretty nerve-wracking but it's also good to actually be able to have conversations again lol. And I guess I'm lucky that the people I do know have similar...

Always have to be right?...Why must they insist on being wrong?!!!

This reminds me of the argument for open-mindedness; not, as certain folk would have it, being open to any and all ideas (regardless of their worth), but being open to the most rationally argued ideas, even if they go against your own. It's the basis of good science and, to my mind, social progress.

How often do you go out?

I realize how difficult stuff like this can be, but I reckon it would be better for you in the end if you tried to keep up the socializing thing, even if only occasionally. I let my fears get the better of me back in 2002 and ended up losing all my friends; became pretty much house-bound for...

Cool music finds chinaberry :) I recently purchased a tumbi (single stringed Indian musical instrument) and it totally rocks!! The thing is addictive, I love it! :D
