Sorry for not replying earlier, but yes I jump into conversations and interrupt a lot, it annoys my friends so I try to remember. As for changing the subject I jump from one to the other mid-sentence.

    My problems

Hi All, this was posted on the ABC Open and I thought I would share it with you. A Difficult Time I agree with the words of Temple Gradin, a fellow Asperger’s sufferer, when she writes in her book. "The way I see it, one can learn social skills." This is true, as I have managed to learn many...

Comment by 'cairnsbird' in 'To the NT parent of an Autistic kid whose comment I once read -- yes, we do suffer.'

The comments on this site are wonderful, you all appear to understand the problem. My ex had years of difficulty with his son, still does. At that time, there were no Autistic groups in Darwin and he had to struggle through the best he could. Now he is old, and worries about what will happen...

    Why I'll always be single

Andrew don't worry someone is out there for you, you just have not found them yet. Its when you get to be my age that nobody takes any notice of you. Men seem to think that older women are duds. They are the duds! Keep trying, you will find a nice lady.

    Anyone extra sensitive to medicines?

Yep, can't take any drugs as I have horrible reactions to them. I had an operation recently and the stuff they gave me for the pain dropped my blood pressure below normal. Scary.

I don't think Aspergers should be listed on the Autism spectrum. Personally I think it is different. I hope that parent in the NT was not my ex, he has an autistic son who never responded to anything.

Comment by 'cairnsbird' in 'It's a Whole New World'

Hello Aspie, I too was self-diagnosed and I had to live a whole lifetime with this problem. As a child I was ostracized and set apart by my peers as I could not understand childhood games, I could not remember one child after I had met them. I did not understand social interactions and always...

A few weird things about me.

My score was 17 so I am moderate. Funny about that I never knew tidying up was an obsession, I too keep everything spic and spam and I love it that way.

A few weird things about me.

That tidying bit happens to me in waiting rooms, I have to tidy all the stupid magazines out. Have you noticed the dumb stuff they put in magazines, I think they consider women stupid or something.

A few weird things about me.

I understand this, you aught to see me trying to dance. I know which foot to put out, but my other one does it instead. Yea I think this stopped me playing any Netball as I was always tripping over my own feet.
