Wanting to go to college

Hi I would like to know how do I handle college with Asperger's?

You might have better luck getting a reply if you repost this as a regular forum post. Also, you're probably more likely to get useful advice if you discuss some of the specific issues you are having with attending college.

Well IContainMultitudes has a point, and maybe you might want to post this as a thread on the forum.

Anyways, if you want to go to college, you'll first need to register at the college you want to go to and complete a FAFSA. Also if you have documentation of Asperger's/Autism, then you can get services from the College's office with the Students with Disabilities (the office name may vary from college to college).

Once your in college, make sure you keep up with your assignments and don't wait till the last minute. I did that before and it wasn't fun. I am sure you'll get more useful advice/replies when you make you're question into a thread on the forum.

Yes, that is a very complex question with no simple answer. It depends on your level of autism and what you can handle and also the school.

Personally I think it best to start out at a small school like a community college rather than a large state university. It's much easier to get around and you aren't interacting with as many people. The downside is that community college can be a lot like high school with the same general level of immaturity.

Good luck.
