Finally Getting Out There

Yesterday me and my mom printed out an application (10 pages long) for Vocational Rehabilitation. Vocational Rehabilitation is a place where they find jobs that are suitable for people with disabilities. Since I have ASD, I would love to have a job that is easier, understandable, not hard and not stressful.

I am finally ready to have a job. I have been volunteering at a cat shelter for five years, and it really doesn't feel it's been that long, but it is. Also too I'm in my mid 20s now, and I feel that it's time. I had gotten the working experience, so I'm ready to go now.

In 2010 I, along with my mom and my sister, started volunteering at a thrift store, but that only lasted a few months. In April 2012, I started volunteering at the cat shelter, doing cat care. My mom and sister would do foods and waters and litter boxes, and I would give soft food to the cats, plus take out recycle, wash dishes, and other little things.
At the shelter there is one cat that I really love, and I don't want to say goodbye to him yet. His name is Hogarth, aka Hoagie (I call him Hoagie-Bear). He is an old cat (I think around 18) and has only a couple teeth. He hangs out in the back area of the shelter, and everybody loves him. But I feel that I'm his favorite.
Whenever I would come on Tuesdays and Fridays, he would get excited when he sees me, because he knows I would give soft food to him. Also I would give him love and sometimes I would brush him, and he really likes that. After when I get the job if I have time I would like to go to the shelter and visit him. I would keep doing that until he passes away, which I'm not looking forward to...

Anyway, about my job, I'm nervous but excited as well. I really can't wait.
