New Years Resolution: Eating Healthier

Money and budgetting related new years resolutions aside, one of my more positive new years resolutions is to try and eat healthier. I don't know that it will necessarily be cheaper, because i prefer either all natural or organic ingredients and even with plain old sandwich bread i buy one of the pricier brands - nature's own whole grain bread. But at the very least it would be more bang for my buck at any rate. I think that as long as i make my meals and drinks healthy, then eating unhealthy snacks is just fine so long as its reasonable. I have a tendency to eat mindlessly if i put a bag of chips near me.

For breakfast all i've come up with are Amy's organic burritos (rice and beans with cheese) and cheesy scrambled eggs with potatoes. Its tough, though, cause with school and two jobs and little cooking experience, i either can't cook, don't have the time, or its just plain more stressful having to cook. But like i said idk what all to buy that's healthy...i love amy's burritos even if they aren't exactly a traditional breakfast, but i'd like more than just two options you know? But i can't think of anything else.

For lunch there's more options. I can make a PB&J or a turkey and cheese sandwich. I can buy frozen precooked breaded chicken patties or fish fillets and make a sandwich out of those - the ones that tyson and gordons make. Like i said its moreso rounded than it is healthy but oh well. I'm not sure what to do about side dishes, though...maybe some mac n cheese. I should have a veggie as a side to round it out but i can't stand their texture and at this point i think forcing myself would ruin the point. I think mac n cheese and mashed potatoes will work fine as sides. Limit my soda intake to at least half soda and half water as well. I may or may not try one of the deli's pasta salads...they look decent, i already love pasta, and its an easier way to acclimate myself to veggies.

Sounds a good idea! I don't like cooking, and my healthy eating options are vegetable soup (or any soup you like) / lentil chips / popcorn / sweet potato and low fat cream cheese / ready meals, if I'm lazy. At least with prepackaged meals you know exactly how many calories etc you're consuming so you're more aware of what exactly you're putting in your body, and they're an easy meal option. Long as you don't have them for every meal!

Hope the healthy eating goes well - drink loads of water, and the healthier you eat the more you realise you don't really need the unhealthy snacks!
