First post: Obsessions, High Temperatures and A Hot Laptop...

I am going somewhere with that. Really.

I recently moved back to Buenos Aires. The apartment I live in (in the 'barrio' or neighbourhood of Belgrano) may have lovely real estate value and what not but it hasn't had any updates in....years. Central air is not a very common thing to start with around here anyhow.

Now, I have yet to build up my library (of blu-rays and books alike) here (again) so almost all my interests, obsessions, pursuits, etc. are accessed via my laptop. It's not bad, I love it. But it's a laptop and I have it on continuously for hours and I haven't even found a place that sells compressed air/dust off to help the fan out a bit. (Oh, and I have no ventilated laptop .... err, that cooling thing? w/e point is it's almost always ontop of a bed or something further clogging the ventilation.)

The result? I've already had the laptop go into emergency shut down from over heating. It's too hot to be wear anything but shorts so my thighs, if I place it there, also suffer.

And yet....I can't stop reading, finding things out, hearing music (it's my only way to access music right now) and so on and so forth. ARGH!

I know there are these laptop cooling trays available. They have fans built in. Perhaps those things are available somewhere in your area.

Haha! Oh my, I feel embarrassed I forgot the name of it. That's exactly what I meant by "Oh, and I have no ventilated laptop .... err, that cooling thing?"

So eloquent. But yes. I do need one of those. I don't know if they have any around here and either way I have to, first of all, buy a television and blu ray player so all my money is going to that.

I may just ask my parents to bring the cooling tray I have at their house in the US.

Thank you for reminding me of the name. I may hazard an online buy depending on the cost of shipping.
