Is the moderation more light-touch here than on other Aspie boards?

I'm finding the moderation on other boards somewhat oppressive, as I cannot discuss religious issues with a free hand. The moderation on the board I am referring to never used to be this restrictive, but it's taken a turn for the worse.

Can anyone advise?

Many thanks

We try to be a bit more on the light side here, however it doesn't mean everything goes and we wont ban anyone.

There are a few topics we pretty much don't allow per rules, one of the being religion (the other one being politics that are not related to autism specifically), as these topics require a lot of moderation and people will most likely get offended in said threads. It's one of the ways we try to keep a friendly atmosphere here.

Understood.

Thanks for the offer, but I wanted to discuss Islam. I can see that it's not going to be possible here, as I have very polarising opinions on the topic. Thank you for your time, though.

If you don't like it here then I'm sure there are a number of other forums you could find.

I know that on some of the other Aspie forums they allow a free reign when it comes to posting anti Islam and Muslim sentiment (coupled with outright hate for all 'brown' people from some) and that was extremely scary for me as a Muslim person with mixed race kids. There is freedom of speech and there is being allowed to expose views that belong on Stormfront.

I'm not saying I don't like it - I wanted to ask what the ground rules were.

Many thanks. (I'm running out of autism forums that will accept me, frankly.)

I believe in freedom of speech (including the type of Stormfront-esque stuff you're on about). However, I find Stormfront unpleasant. I don't like Islam one bit, but I hate white supremacists just as much.

Pretend to be their friends, laugh at their jokes (even though they're not funny) and send hand baked cookies to them a few times per year :D;)

You are some hot guy,
if you can bake cookies
in your hands.

Lots of people have to
resort to using an oven
for that process.
