I'm new here and I thought maybe this could be a cure for me.

The most important part of finding out I was on the spectrum was that I could release some of the guilt I carried, thinking I needed to try harder (even though I already felt I was struggling just to survive). It’s a heavy burden to carry, thinking about yourself as lazy or stupid.

You still need to work your tail off, but maybe now it will be easier to direct your energy into things you will be good at. (I test very highly on IQ but nearly flunked high school…)

I watch a lot of u-tube videos on great thinkers , one pattern seems to occur they did badly in high school most notably subjects that were not stem. I personally did not take english past grade ten My older brother a genius barely passed grade school or high school he got into university by a recommendation letter I got a similar letter went to college instead This I know now is typical for our ilke.

I am 20 years old and also have the diagnosis of Aspergers so I think what you wrote here really resonated with me. Welcome!
