It looks a bit like a gray hawk, maybe a young one because of its brownish color. Fascinating.

I used to have to protect my little dog Leela from hawks in the mountains where we lived. She was so little she would fit in the pocket of my hoodie.
 
I did a bit of a search for you, going on the assumption that you live in the UK. Your hungry visitor appears to be a female Sparrow Hawk.

How to tell the difference between an eagle and other raptors. Eagles are wearing full length trousers, all the other raptors are wearing shorts.
