Not sure. My bad camerawork might not show it but it had stripes on it's chest.

It looks a bit like a gray hawk, maybe a young one because of its brownish color. Fascinating.

I used to have to protect my little dog Leela from hawks in the mountains where we lived. She was so little she would fit in the pocket of my hoodie.

Think you have it. My knowledge of birds is limited to what is in the freezer.

How to tell the difference between an eagle and other raptors. Eagles are wearing full length trousers, all the other raptors are wearing shorts.
