What is the difference between "safe foods" and food preferences?

I see two possible interpretations: - food that is safe to eat and won't cause any issues (e.g. you don't have allergies, digestive problems, sensory problems with it) - food that elicits feelings of safety, such as something you used to each in childhood and it brings back good memories What...

    Adhd medication

I took antidepressants, in no way did it help anger, it made it much worse to the point that I don't think too highly of antidepressants and stimulants as well. I think they're not being prescribed carefully enough, because they can be extremely harmful. They are being promoted as welll and you...

    Adhd medication

Similarly, I think I have ADD without the hyperactivity. The only hyperactive trait I have is that I find it much harder to concentrate and to fall asleep if I don't get sufficient amount of movement during the day. I like sport a lot too. And I keep on moving around and fidgeting. No...

    I can’t stop ruminating.

Or, like, a non cognitive approach at least. Clinical depression is organic. A lot of lifestyle measures help with it, like diet, sleep, exercise. It's not a cognitive problem. It's an organic problem with cognitive effects.

    Do Aspies annoy other Aspies?

Tbh I can't relate to most social media about autism. Mostly this forum and the other one. Maybe it's age.

Has noise-cancelling earphones caused pain for you before?

I do get discomfort and sometimes skin irritation or spots but not infections or bruises. I wash and use an antiseptic on earplugs and cleanse the headphones with an antiseptic. Earbuds don't get as deep in the ear as earplugs, at least some of them, you don't insert them into the ear canal. As...

    Autistic Question

Most frequently, autistic people share my interests. I also don't like to beat around the bush, so they're easier to interact with.

    Diagnosing other people

Yes, been there, done that. I'd argue that once you finish education it's not useful either. Unless you want to work in a sheltered workshop. You might or might not be given accomodations regardless of a diagnosis or lack thereof. If a firm will allow, e.g. remote work, they will do so for...

    Craaaaash...!

Yeah, sounds like memory died. If it's a PC not a laptop, you can open the lid, try to boot and look at LED lamps that light up during startup or listen/look for POST code.

Do Aspies feel expressions on their face?

Poorly formulated question. I don't think I make a conscious effort to make facial expressions. But I've been told many times my facial expression doesn't quite match what I want to convey.

    Diagnosing other people

Good call. I think I find that I have to be more direct with some people, they won't get hints and require upfront instructions what to do first.
