23 Signs You're About To Be Fired

Is there anything one can do when you have been pushed to quit your job? This happened to me, I lost my career, my ability to support myself, my health insurance, everything. I suppose I have no legal recourse? In the US

    Surviving uni/college with AS?

I would almost want to do it over knowing my diagnosis because it was so hard for me testing in an auditorium with 200 coughing, noisemaking people and the rest of it...almost.

    Aspergers and Marijuana

Yes, but unfortunately I live in Virginia which will be about the last state to legalize it. Here 's to hoping, though, progress is being made.

    Aspergers and Marijuana

I have severe depression and it helps me out. Its absolutely true, drugs, and all things in our environment , affect everyone differently, even identical twins. I've been prescribed plenty of drugs by psychiatrists that had awful side effects, you stop taking it and move on. I would like yo see...

Sensitive Topic Are Aspies prone to be emotionally abused?

Do not give an abuser an excuse by saying he is unstable. Abusers are very much in control when it comes to controlling their victims by fear. If he was out of control he would be the one with a police record. Unstable, out of control, etc. are convenient ways that YOU relieve him of...

Need advice- aspie roommate and her bf

    1) People learn from their mistakes. That's it. Disengage. 2) Can we try not armchair, or should I say futon in mommie's basement-diagnose personality disorders left and right? Honestly. I see whining on this forum about Aspergers stigma and "so unfair" and here some Dr. ****-for-brains...

Sensitive Topic Are Aspies prone to be emotionally abused?

Why Does He Do That? Is a great book to help you understand patterns of abuse in relationships. It was incredibly eye-opening for me. I know that my Aspergers has made me an easy target for abuse, in my family and with partners. Abusers are very perceptive as to who is easy to manipulate.

    What are your future/current careers?

Administrative assistant. I was pretty confident that I could get a promotion in the near future until I found out yesterday about how much phone and face to face interaction was involved. I'm stuck.

    Aspergers and Marijuana

I love it, personally. I have very severe depression and anxiety. In small doses it lifts my mood and gives me a break from my morbid obsessions. I have nothing to lose from it. I need enjoyment in my life. It is unavailable to me at this point because I have no friends.

Sensitive Topic Are Aspies prone to be emotionally abused?

Victim-blaming feel-good nonsense. In theory, sure, we are all captains of our own ship. Hooray for existentialism, it works out great on paper. Communism is also totally awesome in the abstract. In the real world, however, unless you happen to be independently wealthy, you generally have to...

Sensitive Topic Are Aspies prone to be emotionally abused?

Yes we are easy targets. Abusers are very good at picking their victims. It is much easier to take advantage of someone on the fringe with little social support.

    Medication experiences

Since increasing my seroquel to 37.5 mg per day I am having uncontrollable tongue movements, swallowing constantly, throat clearing and have gained 6 lbs in 2 weeks. This is rare, but here I am. I have also been really impulsive and have been feeling out of it. Be careful if you try it, don't...

How do you feel about having kids?

I dont think i will have kids. I have always felt ambivalent, and now i am 31 and about the age when i need to either do it or not. My boyfriend has never wanted kids, but i pressed him recently and he would be open to it if we were a bit more secure financially. Part of me fears that i will...

    Food habits

Yes! I became a vegetarian at 13, as soon as my parents decided I was old enough to make decisions, because the texture of meat really skeeves me out. I hate eggplant, also because of the strange texture. I do what you mentioned, i go through phases, and i basically buy tons and tons of the same...
