I was not diagnosed with Aspersers' till I was 36 years, until then it was never even considered or mentioned by anyone. When it was first suggested I thought my psychiatrist was the crazy one..... I'm nothing like rain man I thought.... While they is a great film and opened doors I believe it had also put a very vivid imagine of only one kind of autism in my generations head and they won't accept that it doesn't necessarily appear that obvious in all sufferers.
Once I did my research, particularly Temple Grandins work, I finally realised what had made my life seem so impossible and difficult!!!
