    How To Deal With NT's

I don't cope or deal with it. I just don't. I'm not going to act fake and I'm not going to be someone other than myself to make myself more.. what's the word, appealing? acceptable? to others.. my true friends accept me as I am and they respect what makes me different and don't think less of me...

    Your relationship status?

I'm single and kind of.. neither looking or not looking? I find the dating scene at my age to be incredibly stressful. The whole process of meeting someone and getting to know them seems very superficial and fake. I acknowledge I'd like someone but the effort into meeting someone just involves...

Telling Someone That You Have Aspergers(?)

Honestly I don't think there's a person in the world who would agree to be exclusive with someone after being asked out on a first date, that sounds ridiculous and like it's just a ploy to get you to leave her alone. I hate, hate HATE playing games like that with people but it's how they do it...

    Movies about Asperger's Syndrome

Adam was a bit exaggerated to me. I think it could just me being insecure but I find even in my absolute lowest level of self-awareness and maturity I couldn't find myself saying "Were you sexually aroused at the park? Because I was." I felt they portrayed him as living in a cave the first 30...

    Autism & Suffer From Photophobia

I'm not but I've found we're all sensitive to something one way or another on the autism spectrum, the bandwagon sense is usually hearing. Either way it's perfectly normal to feel how you do..

    Age of Diagnosis

I was diagnosed at 9 but I had a lot of symptoms show pretty early on in life. It just took several years to figure out what it was.

    Online gaming friends

I've been friends with a guy I've played online games with since I was 13. I'm 25 now. You can actually make some really good friends who are more than just some guy you play games with if you really want to put forth the effort.

Does any one feel like they need to be taken care of ?

Not everyone on the spectrum is independent and it's perfectly okay if you aren't, but everyone should still strive to have independent goals of some sort, such as cleaning their own messes or making their own meals. I'm independent but only so much, I know I couldn't manage owning my own home...

    Ex boyfriend with Autism

I would question what this guy's idea of "being in love" is, sounds like it's more about his self esteem than anything.

WP members, let us know who you are!

I followed you here too, lol. It's a nice change of pace here because people seem a lot more mature in these parts, I feel I could actually have productive discussion with like-minded aspies rather than just try too hard to give advice to people I feel might just be trolling. Either way, I have...

Family Members Attempting to "Fix" Us

The problem I most encounter is the people you describe think the cure for my social anxiety is to throw myself in difficult social situations and do it often, like I'll just magically get comfortable with it or something. Yet it has the opposite effect every time.

Aspies, at what age did you find your special interest?

I've had like.. 7 or 8 in my lifetime. It changes if something or someone sparks my interest.

    Asperger's related grieving

I've done this every year and every time I gain some sort of wisdom, in fact I do it so often I learned it's a waste of time to beat myself up over it. I just have to learn from experiences and try not to repeat mistakes. Looking back I've been in so many situations where if I said or did...
