Welcome. We nerds have to stick together.

Resenting where my life is at.

Your escapes are movies and games (and formerly alcohol, congratulation on that). They are starting to control you (much like alcohol). It seems to me you need an escape from your escapes. Been there. My escape mechanism were starting to control me at one point. I had to give some of them up.

I wish I could retire in luxury.

    Doesn't (nearly) everybody.

    Buster Keaton

Try watching Buster Keaton in The Playhouse, especially the dream sequence at the beginning. All the effects were done in camera. Brilliant. Also check out his final performance in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. He still had it.

    Autistic “bluntness”

I don't do blunt, I do direct. There is a difference, sort of like the difference between "Do this" "We need to do this." I think blunt is more commanding maybe.

    Walking with friends

Looks like a lot of fun. I wish I could go walking with friends (most of you know why I can't).

Why are we stupid enough to trust people then they hurt us?

I've written this before, but maybe it bears repeating. Also, this is my personal analysis, and it may not apply to anyone else. I have been hurt by people I trusted. I knew they would eventually would hurt or betray me. I trusted them because having the illusion of friends (even knowing they...

    SPACE IS SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is REALLY cool is that we now have enough information about other planets that we can compare and contrast geological processes. Water erosion on Mars, very similar to Earth. Volcanoes on Venus, but distinctly weird. Lots of other stuff I find fascinating.

    ADHD?

It sounds possible. The tests for ADHD include a test for reaction times and anticipation, sort of (I forget the name of the test). I was officially diagnosed long before I was diagnosed with autism. One thing to be aware of. There is ADHD and ADD. Many people consider them synonymous. I...

Damn it, it is time for me to put my foot down.

YOU DO THAT!! I may have said this before, but your games is an escape mechanism. Movies less so, since you do your reviews. I play games on occasion, but they do not control me. Have you considered you are using games as a substitute for alcohol? You beat your alcohol addiction, now is the...

    Why Am I Doing This?

It is not the destination but the journey.

When it all gets very big, I go nonverbal.

This is sort of familiar. When I get too much input or too many things start happening at once, I get a sort of (for want of a better term) brain paralysis. Thinking on it, it seems like a form of stuttering, only physical instead of vocal. I start to deal with one thing, but before I can...

What's the worst advice you've received?

The first thing to enter my mind when I read that is advice from my mother when she said "If you are lonely. just go out and meet people." In terms of skills and ability, it was akin to saying "If you want something to do, just go to the hospital and perform brain surgery," and in terms of...
