    Synesthesia

Any other guys know of or have this? I've always seen shape, dimension and colour in music, voices and certain time intervals such as weeks etc. Anyone else have sensations like this? It's really helping me learn the guitar so anyone else with this that does music I highly recommend letting your...

    What was your diagnosis?

HFA/AS my mum was told they were the same thing, just different names.

Blog post compares us to psychopaths

This is one opinion of one person. A person who I believe who has been scorned by an aspie. I got a bit annoyed reading it as aspies are not the people they portray. Basically puts us in a light "date them at your own peril" I wouldn't listen to anything the article says and focus being the best...

End of the use of the name Aspergers

Messed that up!! I was always led to believe AS was HFA since my diagnosis in 90.

Facebook users: does this ever happen to you?

Don't take it too personally. I sometimes leave requests til I know the person a bit better then accept. Sometimes when people don't know you and are unsure of you it can come across as if they don't like you.

    What's the longest you've had

There's only 3-4 I'd class as really close friends and known most of them for well over a decade. The other about a year now.

How do you deal with crushes?

I try and get to know them more. See if they like me back. If they don't, the crush fades pretty quickly. If they don't like you back then it's pointless. There's plenty other people out there!

    Dealing with insults

Depends really. If it's a result of a daft error on my part then I try and laugh it off. If they're just being an idiot I try and give as good as I get and if it's a bit of banter I just play along. Learn to laugh at yourself from time to time too! :)

    Keeping Friends

I'd say the 'skill' that's most important is listening to your friend. Makes it so much easier to predict what they're thinking and what to talk about. Also, friendships require maintenance. Make time for your friends.

    Another Strange Grocery Store Experience

Some people are just tools. Happens everywhere. Well done for telling her to bolt! Best way to deal with the society police. I tend to get cheeky with this type of person lol.

    Birthdays

I suppose that's adulthood for you. My last birthday involved working 10-8 then a quiet get together later. Birthdays can be good but work must come first I'm affraid. Try and arrange to do something another day when the both of you are free. See it as a double birthday! :)

Asperger's and having a hard time with people's names?

This is common among NTs too!! I often get called Christopher! Lol. I just come clean and give the line "What's your name again? I'm terrible with names."

    General question about aspergers

You can be protective of her but you can overdo it. If you do then they might think you believe they're not capable of much. She probably feel like you're undermining her. Just make sure you're there when she needs you.

    Someone called me ugly

Try not to worry about what they think. They could just be someone that doesn't like beards full stop but there are plenty other people that would love your beard. If you like it, stick with it! Bottom line, don't beat yourself up over the warped opinion of one person.
