Accepting & processing Im an Aspie

Never been to NY, but what I love is everything Appalachian! Now that I think about it, the character Ruan Gosling played might have been an aspie. A tough one LOL. I recommend "Out of the Furnace" too- there u can see deeper into the backwoods. Ever been there?

    Managing unhealthy obsessions

Umbrellabeach has a point. Avoid the object of your obsession/fixation and you'll start focusing on something else after a while. It your obsession doesn't go away, remember to be patient. Aspies wouldn't have it this hard if we could just be more patient. You have to embrace who you are and...

    What is your mental age?

I'm 36. Mentally, I can be 60 when I'm laying down reading for hours, in complete silence. I can be 12 when I'm playing video games & eating ice cream crazily. The thing is I believe I'm not mentally 36 that often.

    Actor/Actress Obsession?

I can get attached to beautiful girls like a Scarlet Johanson or Jennifer Lawrence, but that's not an aspie thing lol. I recently binge-watched the full 7 seasons of Sons of Anarchy & was so amazed by the role played by Katey Sagal that I started googling her name, reading everything about her...

    Managing unhealthy obsessions

No straightforward answer to this, given that I go through the same all the time. What I can tell you is to be patient. It used to kill me when I was younger. Now, at 36 years old, I've just learned these obsession don't last forever. They seem to choke u for days, weeks, even moths. Then...

    Video games you're playing?

I get obssessed with videogames for a couple of months, then I quit. My last binge period was some 2 months ago. I got really hooked on EA UFC on PS4. I spent hours playing online & happy to get actually good at it. I'd been hooked on Uncharted 3, GTA V and Tekken Tag 2 before.

Accepting & processing Im an Aspie

Thanx a lot. I've developed the habit of forcing myself to shut up, so finding likeminded people is amazing. This socializing thing has always been foreign to me. I can't believe I've finally found a whole circle of people I can open up to. :)

    Hello everyone :)

Congratulations on such a successful life! Many of us struggle to keep a long-term job and/schedules. I'm glad to hear you're not only working but also doing what you like to do. I'm a noob too, trying to find my place out of the neurotypical environment (I'm done with those guys lol.)

Accepting & processing Im an Aspie

Drugs are one of my main interest. Wait, I know it sounds horrible, lol, I'm against using drugs actually. It's the social phenomenon & psychological issues of it that fascinate me. I've also tried drugs as a teen though as part of the many won't decisions I've made. "Middle age was the perfect...

Thanks a lot for your response. I'm also married with 1 kid. As for sharing what I read, it's not about imposing but merely share. Just the idea of taking about one of those topics no one else cares about just as most people talk about sports. I appreciate your contribution on my interests...

Accepting & processing Im an Aspie

As a 36 year old man, I've been through a lot and don't really feel like telling the story of my lifetime struggle with depression, insomnia, and a long list of etceteras. I bet you guys can imagine. I chose (or was conditioned to) just pretend I was a neurotypical since a very early age. I...
