    What Are Your Triggers?

My only real feedback is that, yes, the replies have been helpful to me, both personally and professionally. I have people in both my life and my practice that I can understand better as a result. Thank you!

    What Are Your Triggers?

All good things seem to come to a loose end. Maybe this one too?

    What Are Your Triggers?

Sorry, I've been busy with other stuff. I don't really have an official "Study Project," just an interest in people who are different, and yet in many ways the same, as me. Hope you haven't minded the intrusion. Thanks for checking in. :-)

Good that you waited until you were ready, in my opinion. Yay for you!

    What Are Your Triggers?

Sorry, neither a student nor a book writer. Just a therapist with both clients and personal acquaintances who are on the spectrum. Just trying to understand them all better. I am what I say I am. :-)

I don't know that I'm qualified to respond, but I have found the books written by Rudy Simone to be helpful. Also, Tony Attwood has a book out on female AS. May be worth a look.

    What Are Your Triggers?

I suppose you could say that. Just interested in learning more. I hope I don't seem intrusive. Sorry if I do. :-)

Remember, magnifying glasses work both ways. :-)

Sounds like par for the course. I wish more therapists would just follow their client wherever they want to go.

Nobody knows what goes on inside you or where it hurts, except you.

    Therapist Do's and Don'ts

Yes, this is a dilemma for most therapists who work with people under 18. Ideally, it should have been explained to you that whatever you say might be (but doesn't have to be) shared with your parents. This puts you both in a tough spot, but it's a "judgement call" as to what the therapist might...

    Therapist Do's and Don'ts

Just to clarify (and maybe as a cautionary tale), because this person was under 18 years of age, the doctor (or whatever) did have the right to share info with the parents. If 18 or older, it is as you say.
