    Predisposed to be a liar?

3 Years in to your PHD...so you know more than these scientists who have finished their PhDs? You know more than Dr Simon Baron-Cohen et al? Ok then. And what bothers me is BS that is posted by people that say crap like "pathological lying is part of being on the spectrum" because it's not true...

    Predisposed to be a liar?

Once again...telling lies (knowing you are not telling the truth in order to gain an advantage and/or knowing that it will make the other person upset) is NOT related to autism. You are taking your personal experience and then saying a blanket all encompassing sentence "it's related to autism"...

    Predisposed to be a liar?

Again, you/the specialist is talking about Cognitive Empathy. A specific type of empathy. We lack that yes. We still have emotional empathy or the other sort, to varying degrees, just as NTs have it to varying degrees, and it isn't due to autism that an Autistic has low Emotional Empathy. It is...

    Predisposed to be a liar?

To clarify: if you aren't empathetic at all, once you know someone is in pain or in danger that you care about etc, then that's not because you're on the spectrum. It has been shown with fMRI scans that autistic people don't lack THAT type of empathy. If you're sure you lack that type, then you...

    Predisposed to be a liar?

Have you ever read that lying and lack of remorse is part of being on the spectrum? Ever? It's not. Simple. Many people assume that any kind of behavior or characteristic may be spectrum related. Why? There are lists online from medical websites. Doctors. Books. Information that takes very...

How often are you accused of overreacting? !

All the time. NTs get upset over things we find stupid or irrational. We get upset and react to things that make sense to us to feel deeply or emotion about. We also have sensory disorder that can lead to meltdowns or shutdowns. They'll never understand fully but should accept us as we...

I'm 70% introverted and an extrovert friend of mine refused to believe I am even introverted in the first place lol! I'm definitely introverted and he just doesn't understand what that means, despite being a really smart guy.

    That's what I would've thought too. (In relation to the -A -T).

What about the -A or -T? Can they change over time?

Just out of interest, were you diagnosed as an adult? I think that being diagnosed (just last month) as an adult has meant that I grew up not having a more certain idea of whether my actions or words were appropriate and why I was different. I think that can add to the -T element perhaps.

Being different is OK. But it's beyond doubt that NTs are more inclined to naturally process in one way and AS people in another way. Processing the world in an NT way is great for other NTs, my while family is NT and my ex is, we were together for 8 years. I can see that there's a common...
