Retro Obsessed
There's my obsession. Though honestly I'm getting into the modern stuff as well.

First pic is my setup. Problem is with the amount of **** I have it's easy running out of room in my bedroom. Love to sleep with my systems nearby as they're a source of comfort. Other two are from a place called the Neutral Zone.

I bought Coleco Adam today for $100. People normally sells them double the price or more. The tape drive and cartridge slot both works. I'm learning how to make games for it.

I have two pinball machines from the mid 1960s,one that is complete and another that needs a few repairs.

I used to play the arcade game Pole Position. After spending over $100 in quarters learning the game,my quest was to put my name on the #1 spot on every machine I could find in the Greater Pittsburgh Pennsylvania metropolitan area ;)

I was able to stand in front of the machine very relaxed to qualify which would enter you in the race. I took the pole position every time. I learned every trick in the book so to speak about how and where to pass and had the cornering down to a science. The game ran with a timer that added additional time of play to your game if you passed the finish time on time. After a while,I got so I could complete all three additional sessions when the car would slow down and a fanfare began with the race girls and a confetti ticker tape ending. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pole_Position_(video_game)

Autie focus kids and nothing more :D

Retro games have been one of my passions. Gamecube, PlayStation One, SNES and Sega Dreamcast etc were my favourites. I also own a R.O.B. accessory which was originally used for the NES, and a Game & Watch too based on Donkey Kong Jr. I remember visiting a arcade museum around September 2015 as a college trip, where I saw many arcade machines including Tetris (which had very loud audio), Donkey Kong and Space Invaders I believe.

The most recent retro games I purchased (mostly last year) were Chu Chu Rocket, NIGHTs Into Dreams, Croc 1 and Parappa the Rapper. I'm hoping to get more soon. I've also had trouble with making my Dreamcast and SNES appear on my TV, and I ordered a video adapter that'll hopefully resolve that soon. I recently played Pikmin 1 and Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection too.

Games are something I've felt very passionate about for most of my life, I don't have a soft spot of older games though the problems faced with marketing games these days does make me wish for those days to come back. I started gaming with my brother's Spectrum ZX but I didn't properly get into gaming as a special interest until we got a PlayStation 2 with games like Grand Theft Auto 3. At the moment I'm a big fan for single player RPGs like The Elder Scrolls and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and Fallout, I'm currently waiting for Final Fantasy 9 to be available on PC since that's probably my most favourite Final Fantasy game.

Though it isn't considered an arcade game,I run the WWII European theater version of Microsoft combat flight simulator at the 100% realism level. The graphics are fair, but the realism is on the money. I have most of my sim hours logged in a North American P-51D.
Cessna actually validated Microsoft's sim as very appropriate for learning to fly their airplanes.
With the realism turned all the way up,it is very easy to crash, the ammunition runs out extremely fast and the G-forces render you blind like in real life. The navigation is spot on and the surface maps are very accurate for correct altitude and location.

I got grounded due to my brain injury,so this is as good as it gets ;)

Funny to think I managed to get the original "Red Baron" running on my legacy system a few nights ago. The nostalgia lasted about a minute, realizing just how primitive the game is visually speaking. I still think about "Chuck Yeager's Air Combat" as well, but that's equally as primitive.

But then I still have European Air War, Silent Hunter I and II, IL-2 Sturmovik, Pacific Fighters, NASCAR 2004, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 and Red Baron 3D on the same hard drive running Windows 98SE. So I'm still good.

I love retro arcade games! There's even a place nearby that let's you play a bunch of retro arcade games for $10 for the day.

I still have my IL-2 Sturmovik ;)

My flight sim is so accurate that you have engine mixture control like the one used on the P-51. The prop is constant speed and automatic,so you set the crankshaft to the desired RPM and adjust the manifold pressure from the two speed supercharger to maintain the fuel usage while the auto part of the prop takes care of the blade pitch angles.
The fuel load will last much longer under cruise power settings at 362 mph but suffers during increased power setting for climb out or escape at a top speed of 437 mph at 25,000 feet where the air is thinner. A P-51 D model with external drop tanks had a range of 1650 miles if you left the bomb or rocket load at home.Drop tanks were jettisoned when a fighter got in a combat situation that limited how much fuel you had to get back to a landing site especially after a full rich full throttle run.Long range bomber escort missions were done in short hops with waypoints along the way that exchanged fighter support because of their limited range.
The Packard licensed Rolls-Royce V-12 Merlin has impulse coupled magnetos that snap past their centerlines to increase spark potential during the cranking startup that clicky clack as the engine winds down after you cut the ignition right before it stops and the sim has that too. I can preset all of the weather and the time of day before a flight that will also go dark on you as it approaches night fall. There are preset missions that you can go on that were actually a part of the war,or you can select a free flight from any destination using latitude and longitudinal coordinates in the air or on the ground. The aircraft responds like the real one in all manners and can be broken if stressed too hard. When the realism is set to 100%,you get blinded from extreme G-forces as well.

There are 1840 .50 cal rounds that are shot thru six Browning machine gun barrels all at the same time, three to a wing. If you pull and hold the trigger, the burst lasts about 3 minutes and then you are done. There are two hard attach points for a 1,000 bomb load and anchors for rockets as well, but most of them served as bomber escorts that couldn't afford the added load of bombs and rockets in combat. In other words, you didn't spray and pray, you squeezed off three shot bursts(18 rounds at a clip) only if the intended target completely filled the sight.

I have flown three hour missions only to get shot down, damaged by flak or snagged by cable tethered balloons a few minutes after finding a target area. Game over,no replay. The airplane crashes and a notification is displayed that shows what they sent to your family after you were killed in action. The music is pretty creepy too

I prefer classic games myself... Games where you can learn how to use the controls in less time than it takes to put your quarter in the slot...
