Have you ever been told you cost to much?

Don't know why I'm thinking about this today but their has been told a few times i'm a waste of NHS, Government and education money. Has anyone else ever been told this. Ive been told it's waste by many grownups that the council pays my taxi to school and now collage. My Grants friend said I should not receive anti epilepsy meds because they cost the NHS to much. Even though I know these things are needed these people still make me feel guilty.

Those people are awful and you should in no way feel guilty. They're probably quite happy to get paracetamol on prescription despite the massive cost to the NHS when you can buy it yourself very cheaply, or miss GP appointments without cancelling which also costs the NHS dearly. Everyone in this country is entitled to help when they need it from the NHS, no matter how much tax they've paid or how much it will cost. Would they prefer that you be unable to get to college if the council didn't pay for your taxi?? They'd probably then moan about how you weren't in education. There are people in this world who will never be happy and just like to have a good moan about things, usually which they know nothing about.

Also anybody who says that you shouldn't be on something like anti-epilepsy medication is a dick. My cousin has epilepsy, and without the medication she is on, she would likely have died by now.

This seems a awful lot like bullying to me. When someone tells you that you are not worth educating and aiding and being given meds they are attempting to put you down. Whoever has said this to you is cruel and unjustified. You are worth all those things.

They are bitter be careful about what you tell them people on the spectrum are a target for poisoned minds just as other races are

My gp intimates things never says it directly human life has little worth to the bitter and greedy

My issue is the things they have seen the support workers, the TAs, the taxi to school these things are hard to hide. Trust me I try to keep myself to myself as much as my family want to share me with the world.

No to clarify you need to give the impression that they've gone over a boundary be cold silently cold they obviously need a big very obvious warning
think to yourself no one human can fulfill your needs or as in the song from the film(movie ) pass me bye if you DONT happen to like me pass me bye "!not angry cold but calm cold ,revenge is a dish best served cold, an American phrase IM worth more than that or you DONT have the right to disrespect me!!!! set up boundaries as you do for children!

First of all, how could you possibly be harming those entities by using their abundant resources?? Just to put it into perspective in your mind. Second, yeah, if you can make THEM feel guilty for even suggesting such things to you, that'd be nice.

I was once being harassed by a vocational rehab lady. Though I was 25 yrs old, she had called my mother (who I wasn't even living with) and discussed my case, and me in general, at length. I asked the social worker if that was legal, pointing out that I was 25. Then, I told her I wanted my case closed. She said, "Well, if you're FINE with wasting the tax payer's dollars." To which I calmly replied (calm is always best if it can be helped) "yes, I'm alright with that."

As an NT I just want to tell you that these people are not worth your time. How dare they make a judgement about you when they don't know what life is like for you.
Please don't spend any time listening to these people.
In the UK, we are working hard to understand and include people with autism spectrum conditions. We need all kinds of minds to make this world a diverse, tolerant, happy place and this includes you my lovely!
Ignore ignorant people like this. Stick with people who like you for being you and don't judge.
I'm so sorry you've had such horrible comments. It makes me sad.
I hope you are ok.

It's only happened once. I do have a twin sister though and my mom just said that we cost too much. It really didn't offend me, it just made me be more conservative of my stuff.

What horrible people! You are a child of God and have as much right to this help as anyone! Please don't feel guilty about any help you receive. And get away from these negative people. You don't need that in your life. God bless you and the best of luck!

I hate to hear that any parent said anything like that to their child. But remember that possibly your mother feels overwhelmed at times and surely does not mean she doesn't love you. Good luck to you!

what worries me is how much respect people give to printed so called facts
they go to journalism or wikipedia like it is almost sacred
cant understand how they stay so psychologically immatur

I have no problem with paying taxes, even higher taxes, as long as the system that is build upon them is sustainable in the long term and those receiving the money are required to make a serious effort to be self sufficient before tax money is used to help them out. I have seen some people who have gotten into drugs and ruined their lives and must now forever rely on other people's tax money to stay afloat. With such people I would offer them work so they can sustain themselves. Faced with starvation or work I think they would all choose the latter. Faced with free money and free services vs responsibility they would choose the former, ruin their own lives and unnecessarily be a burden to society.
With disabled individuals I would be more generous.
Ultimately I think that successful people should be encouraged to procreate more than unsuccessful people. Personally, if the choice was between relying on long term welfare vs scrubbing toilets I would scrub toilets. Would not be picky about work if I had no other choice, and would expect the same of others before my money is used to help them out.
I think socialism is not the most successful system long term, and that is the main reason I am concerned by it not because it costs me more money.

so does your harsh belief make you happy

Results make me happy.

To explain some more. Harshness in itself is undesirable but in many circumstances it yields better results than softness. When there are no moral concerns about being harsh and it leads to better results I prefer it. I do not go soft on myself. Am willing to put myself through a lot of unpleasantness in order to succeed. Before the fruit of my labour is given away for free I want to make sure that those receiving it are willing to make the same effort I am. It would be unfair for some to work compulsively while others who are able to work are allowed to not work and money is taken away from individuals who sweat and suffer for their work to be given to the lazy. I have no problem with paying in order to sustain those unable to work. I have even given significant amounts to animal charities. I simply do not like being taken advantage of.

To answer specific questions asked in this thread, I have no problems with tax money being used to pay for the education and health care of disabled individuals.

You're using the system in place for its intended purpose. Not like you're selling the meds, or getting free rides for buddles, or whatever. I know too many people who do things like that everyday. So I say no reason for you to feel guilty. Sounds like you've got a limited lifestyle and do what you can to get by.

If they wanna talk wasting govt money, let's just say I've seen more than my fair share of govt vehicles used for weekend pleasure trips up north, along with all the other perks they get.

No. However, when I saw that the treatment for my depression cost a whopping 16000 euros, I did feel a little guilty, somehow. But mostly, I was baffled that my therapy was that expensive. And happy that I live in a country with good health insurance.
