goodbye & Goodbye/thoughts for #9 and #14

goodbye/Goodbye

"There's no good in goodbye." This saying is based on a lack of
understanding of the meaning & derivation of the word "goodbye."
"Goodbye" comes from "godbwye" which is a contraction of “God be with ye.”
Is it true that “goodbye” is actually short for a religious phrase? | Dictionary.com Blog
goodbye - definition of goodbye in English | Oxford Dictionaries

I didn't have to look up the derivation of the word today to know what it meant.
I learned that some time ago. I searched "goodbye" today so that I could
provide links/footnotes for the definition.
I like to footnote/provide documentation when possible.

Good Friday
The only sermon I can remember from when my parents were taking me
to church was the one about 'Good Friday.' The vicar said that the day is
called 'Good' because it fulfilled the purpose for which it was made.

Good Grief
'Good Grief, Charlie Brown'
I really liked Charlie Brown cartoons when I was little.
I didn't think about what "Good Grief" meant until I was about 12.
That was after I had heard the sermon about "Good Friday."

The Goodbye Girl is a movie I didn't expect to like. I thought it would be
sappy/saccharine/sentimental, like a bad Lifetime or Hallmark
made for television thing.

farewell
I wonder why I didn't make one of these 'goodbye' generators a "farewell" instead.
People usually think "farewell" is a depressing word that means goodbye forever, but
it isn't that way. To "fare well" means to get along/prosper on your trip/journey/while
you are away.

Sometimes when I am with someone I don't want to leave, I say that I don't
want to leave, but since that is the only way I will get to come back, I will.
